　　Operating the X85-2S Temperature-Controlled Magnetic Stirrer

　　1. Place the stirrer securely, turn both knobs to OFF, connect the power cable and plug it in.

　　2. Center the beaker containing the liquid on the hotplate and add a stir bar. The left knob controls power and speed. Turn it to ON; the speed display lights. Slowly turn clockwise until the displayed stirring speed reaches the required value.

　　3. The right knob controls heating and sets hotplate temperature. When heating is required, turn it to the desired hotplate setting. The heating indicator lights and the plate heats to and maintains that temperature. Set the plate above the required liquid temperature. For faster heating, initially use a higher setting, then reduce it to slightly above the target before the liquid reaches temperature to avoid overshoot. If the heating indicator has been off for some time but the liquid remains too cool, increase the plate setting. If the liquid is at temperature while the indicator remains on, reduce the setting. For better accuracy, connect an electrical-contact mercury thermometer's two leads to the rear terminals, immerse it in the liquid, secure it to the support rod and set the desired temperature.

　　4. After use, turn both knobs to OFF, unplug the unit, allow it to cool, clean its exterior and store it properly.

　　X85-2S Temperature-Controlled Magnetic Stirrer Precautions:

　　1. The power outlet must be properly earthed.

　　2. Do not overfill the beaker, to prevent liquid overflowing during stirring.

　　3. The hotplate becomes very hot during operation. Keep power cables and thermometer leads away from it and prevent contact.
