Like some manufacturers, we name our magnetic stirrers by the year and sequence of design finalization. For example, 08-2 denotes the second design finalized in 2008. Because manufacturers assign model names independently, different products can share a designation, causing confusion. Our 90-1 is a large-capacity, stirring-only magnetic stirrer with a capacity of 20 liters, while another manufacturer's 90-1 is a standard-capacity heated magnetic stirrer. Customers have occasionally ordered the wrong product by mail. To distinguish newer designs, we prefix the year and sequence with MYP, the initials of the Chinese name Meiyingpu. For example, MYP11-2 means the second magnetic stirrer design finalized by Meiyingpu in 2011. Nevertheless, we recently found “MYP11-2” on a magnetic stirrer carrying neither a manufacturer name nor a product name. Whether this reflects misunderstanding of “MYP” or deliberate confusion is unclear. Inspection indicated that the product copied our 08-2 design with an added digital speed-display board.08-2 and MYP11-2 differ fundamentally in technical performance, much like the MiG-15 and J-15 belong to different aircraft generations. The 08-2 is a lower-priced magnetic stirrer with fully manual control and an analog-based digital display, whereas MYP11-2 is an intelligent microcomputer-controlled magnetic stirrer with three-phase brushless DC drive, stable speed, precise temperature control, convenient operation, a 9999-minute timer and an overtemperature alarm.
Our products sold in China use Chinese-language front panels. The product name appears above, with “Shanghai Meiyingpu Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd.” or “Shanghai Meiyingpu” below. The Chinese product and company names use a decorative clerical-script typeface for clear identification by domestic users.
