The right half of the control panel controls stirring and temperature; the left half controls weighing.
Install the control panel on the main unit before use. Align the grooves and insert the aviation connectors inside the two panel columns into their matching sockets, then secure the panel with bolts and nuts. Because heating power is high and current exceeds 20 amperes, direct connection of the power cable to a circuit breaker is recommended. Connect the yellow-green wire to earth and the other wires to live and neutral.
Operating the heated stirrer (right half of the control panel):
1. Place the stirrer securely. Connect the temperature sensor to the controller's two terminals. Center the vessel containing the liquid on the hotplate, add a stir bar and immerse the sensor. Connect power and switch on. The control-box switch controls only the controller and stirring motor. The speed and temperature indicators light; the left display shows the previously set speed and the right display the previously set temperature.
2. Speed setting: Press SET once. The left display flashes. Use UP or DOWN to select the required speed.
3. Time setting: Press SET once. The time indicator lights. Use UP or DOWN to set the required time. Set “0” if timing is not required.
4. Temperature setting: Press SET once. The temperature indicator lights. Use UP or DOWN to set the liquid temperature.
5. Hotplate temperature setting: Press SET once. The hotplate-temperature indicator lights. Use UP or DOWN to set the maximum hotplate temperature. During heated stirring, pressing SET until this indicator lights displays the hotplate temperature.
6. Press SET twice. The speed indicator lights and the left display shows the set speed; the temperature indicator lights and the right display shows the set temperature. Setup is complete.
7. Press Stir once; the stirring indicator lights and the stirrer accelerates from low speed to the selected speed.
8. Press Heat once; the heating indicator lights and heating starts. The red heating-up indicator means that the heating plate is energized.
9. Heating is only available while stirring. When the heating indicator is on, press Heat again to stop heating. Press Stir again to stop both stirring and heating.
10. Viewing current conditions: Press SET to select the speed, time or temperature indicator and display current speed, remaining time or liquid temperature respectively. When the heating indicator is off, the set temperature is displayed. During heating, select the hotplate-temperature indicator to display hotplate surface temperature.
11. After stirring stops, press STIR again to restart using the previous settings. The timer restarts.
12. During operation, UP or DOWN adjusts stirring speed. While pressed, the display shows the requested speed. Changes made during operation are not saved; the next startup uses the original speed setting.
13. Only stirring speed can be changed during operation. Change all other settings in standby mode.
14. An audible alarm sounds when the set time is reached.
15. Power consumption is minimal when stirring is stopped, so switching off is unnecessary for short pauses.
16. If the stir bar loses coupling, stop the unit immediately to prevent demagnetization.
Operating the weighing function (left half of the control panel):
1. After power-on and the left display's sequential self-test, an empty platform should read 0.00. If it does not read 0.00, wait for a stable display and press Tare once. The display alternates between 0.00 and the previous value. Press Confirm to reset the weighing controller to 0.00. If a U-shaped indicator appears at the far left, press Gross/Net to clear it. The weighing function is then ready for normal use.
2. Taring and Tare Memory
Press Tare once; the display alternates between 0.00 and the tare weight. Press Tare again to tare and store the tare value; the tare weight will still be displayed at the next power-on. Alternatively, after pressing Tare and seeing 0.00 alternate with the tare weight, press Confirm. The controller tares and stores the value, but at the next power-on displays the weight after subtracting the tare. This is net weight and cannot be switched to gross weight. If Tare is pressed accidentally, take no further action; the controller exits tare mode after 3 seconds.
3. Gross/Net Key and Display
4. After placing a vessel on the scale, press TARE twice. The controller saves the tare and displays net weight. During operation, press GROSS/NET once to display gross weight, with a U-shaped symbol at the far left. Press again to display net weight with no leftmost symbol.
5. Weight increase/decrease indicators
During operation, the weight-increase indicator lights if the platform load increases within 10 seconds by more than 0.03kg. The weight-decrease indicator lights if it decreases within 10 seconds by more than 0.03kg.
6. Setting overload and underload alarm weights:
Materials may be added while stirring until an upper alarm weight is reached, or discharged until a lower alarm weight is reached. The buzzer sounds when either set threshold is reached.
Settings: press Set once. The maximum-weight indicator lights and the display shows xxx.xx, which is the factory or previous setting. Use + or - to set the maximum weight. Press Set again; the minimum-weight indicator lights. Use + or - to set the minimum weight. Press Set again to return to normal operation; both indicators turn off.
During operation, if net weight exceeds the maximum limit or falls below the minimum limit, the buzzer sounds, the corresponding indicator lights and the display flashes the current weight. If minimum weight is set to 0, the lower-limit alarm is disabled.
7. Calibration method:
The unit is normally calibrated at the factory and does not require user recalibration. Calibrate after replacing the control board or load sensor, using the following procedure:
(1) Clear the weighing platform. Hold the Calibration key while switching on. Wait during the sequential display and keep the unit stationary.
(2) When the display alternates between the current value and 100.00, place a 100kg calibration weight on the platform and wait for a stable reading. Keep the weight away from the central φ150mm area to avoid strong magnetic attraction and damage to the platform.
(3) Once the reading stabilizes, generally after more than 10 seconds, press Calibration. The display shows 0.00. Use + or - to enter the correct password and press Confirm. The controller stores the calibration value, performs a display self-test and returns to normal operation.
If the password is incorrect, the calibration value is not saved. The buzzer sounds twice and the controller remains in calibration mode.
(4) Recalibrate if the weighing error exceeds the rated value.
Other precautions:
1. The power outlet must be properly earthed.
2. Do not overfill the vessel, to prevent liquid overflowing during stirring.
3. The hotplate becomes very hot during operation. Keep power cables and temperature-sensor leads away from it and prevent contact.
4. Large-capacity magnetic stirrers have strong magnetic attraction, causing substantial friction between the stir bar and vessel bottom. Use a vessel with a low friction coefficient where possible and inspect stir-bar wear regularly. Severe wear increases contact area and friction, potentially overloading or stalling the motor and damaging its driver. Difficult starting or longer acceleration often indicates stir-bar wear; replace the bar.
5. Use only the speed needed to achieve effective mixing. Higher speeds accelerate stir-bar wear.
